Grand Lake Wedding

This beautiful Grand Lake wedding had my heart this season. There is nothing I love more than getting to fully immerse myself into an intimate wedding day. And when you have two genuine souls like Lihsia and Lewis, it makes the day that much better.

Though they had always planned on a more intimate wedding day, COVID made it unsafe to include their families. So they scaled back to make it a friends-only wedding and brought together an amazing group of their mutual friends to celebrate with them.

Knowing that their wedding was happening during a pandemic, Lihsia and Lewis’ friends stepped up. From the moment the group arrived at their VRBO in Grand Lake, the friends were on top of making sure all the food, decor, and atmosphere was taken care of. Lihsia and Lewis got to step back, drink their tea, and watch their friends lovingly create their celebration for them. And they got to revel in the emotion of their wedding day, fully embracing every moment of it together.

Meadowview Mountain Lodge Ceremony

When it was ceremony time, their friends gathered in the living room. They cheered as Lihsia and Lewis descended the stairs together. Then the whole group was escorted by bagpipe down the hill from the house and across the street to the meadow where their ceremony took place.

One of their good friends, who had been instrumental in introducing Lihsia and Lewis, orchestrated their ceremony. And it was full of personal stories, personal vows, and laughter from the group.

After the ceremony Lihsia and Lewis took some time for photographs of the two of them while their friends headed back to the house to put the finishing touches on the cocktail hour and dinner spaces.

The rest of the evening flowed from al fresco dinner, to toasts, to dancing under the stars outdoors.

All in all, Lihsia and Lewis’ Grand Lake wedding was the epitome of making the most of a wedding in a pandemic. I am so thankful to have been a small part of their celebration.

*Note: This beautiful wedding venue, Meadowview Mountain Lodge, was sadly burned to the ground in the 2020 East Troublesome Fire. As far as I know the owners have no plans to rebuild their business.
