Breckenridge Snowmobile Elopement
Diane and Melissa live in Florida but they decided to come to Colorado to tie the knot. They envisioned a super intimate celebration with their two best friends and Melissa’s two kiddos, and they picked a date in February to make their magical winter wedding a reality!
Their original plan was to do a sleigh ride around Breckenridge, but during their scouting trip the month before wedding day they changed up their plans.
They decided that they wanted to be a bit more adventurous and booked a snowmobile ride instead!
On their wedding day we met at the outpost office of High Country Tours. The temperatures were just below freezing, but the sun was shining–a perfect Colorado winter day.
After suiting up the wedding crew in winter gear, we hopped on board our individual snow mobiles and hit the trails for their private excursion.
The evergreen trees were draped in snow, the mountains in the distance were snowcapped, and the kids were having a blast riding along on the snowmobiles.
About 30 minutes in to the ride we stopped at a gorgeous lookout where Diane and Melissa decided to say “I Do”. Their friend officiated the ceremony and Melissa walked down the “aisle” with her two boys on her arms. Diane and Melissa exchanged personal vows and rings. And their boys contributed readings to the ceremony. After a kiss and a celebratory group photos, we hopped back on the snowmobiles for the rest of the ride.
Our next stop was a sledding hill where every member of our group took turns tubing several hundred feet down the hill. We had a blast sliding, making snow angels, and having a snow fight.
Though we were running a little behind schedule, we still took time to stop in a gorgeous aspen grove, where we got to highlight Diane and Melissa with some portraits in the afternoon light.
We wrapped our day with hugs and high fives.
Congratulations Diane and Melissa. It was a joy to hang out with your family and friends for the day and I’m so happy for the joining of your family!
