Cannon Beach Oregon Portraits

In the spirit of getting out and exploring when I travel, my roommates and I decided that we just had to see the Oregon Coast while we were in Portland for Mystic Seminars.  If you’re a Goonies fan, you’ll recognize the iconic rocks of Cannon Beach just off the shore.

That’s one thing I really love about the West Coast, from Oregon all the way to central California–there are just so many amazing rock formations.  The rocks at Cannon Beach are huge and you almost wonder how they got there. They’re fascinating.

In order to take advantage of some pretty early morning light, we hit the road at 6:00am, hoping to make it to the coast by sunrise.  It was a rainy drive, but as the sky started to lighten, we were struck by the beauty of the silhouetted trees and mist rising from the ground.  We just had to stop and capture it.Canon Beach Oregon Portrait photoCanon Beach Oregon Portrait photo
