Where is City Park Pavilion?

Location:
Inside City Park
1700 N. York St., Denver, CO 80202

There are tons of one way streets inside City Park, so the fastest way to get to the Pavilion is to enter the park between the Denver Zoo and Denver Museum of Nature & Science parking lots and drive alongside the park towards the lake. The road will eventually lead you to a parking lot by the pavilion.

I used to work at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science (and as  a Denver Wedding Photographer I’m in the park often) so I know City Park well. I can help us scout spots for photos throughout the park!

What is the overall feel of the City Park Pavilion?

From their site:

Part of the “City Beautiful” campaign at the beginning of the 20th century, the Pavilion was designed by John Humphreys and William Fisher, and completed in 1882. The original structure was replaced in 1929, and refurbished in 1992. Surrounded by the picturesque Sopris garden, Ferril Lake, and the historic City Park Band Shell, the Pavilion offers a variety of breathtaking views and photo opportunities. This elegant Spanish-style landmark features towers and arches, and is nestled in front of the awe-inspiring Denver skyline. The City Park Pavilion is the signature Denver venue.

The City Park Pavilion is on the US National Register of Historic Places and Colorado State Register of Historic properties. The building itself is large and can accommodate a large guest count for ceremonies or reception. And it’s a blank canvas for decorations. It’s also one of the most affordable outdoor spaces in Denver for weddings.

Pro Tips for Getting Married at the City Park Pavilion

Make sure you take the time to photograph in the gardens surrounding the building. Every inch is beautiful

If we’re getting a killer sunset, make sure you take a time out for that as well! The sun sets on the back side of the building and it’s beautiful.

The building is vast, so think about how to make the space feel cozy and intimate.

I travel all over the state of Colorado and across the US to capture connected wedding stories for devoted and courageous couples. I’d love to be your City Park Pavilion wedding photographer!
