Denver Athletic Club Same-Sex Wedding | Bruce and Danny
In early fall, I had the chance to work alongside fellow Betty board member, Chelsea Spika Photography, for a black tie Denver Athletic Club Same-Sex Wedding. Working in downtown Denver is always a nice change from the drive into the mountains (though I LOVE my mountain weddings too).
From the DAC’s website:
“Founded in 1884, The Denver Athletic Club is one of the oldest and most prestigious private clubs in the United States”
There were definitely big nods to the organization through the building, from the photos of members on the walls to the board room tables that dominated the conference rooms. But there were also beautiful nods to history in the wallpaper, gilded mirrors, and furniture. We started by hanging out with Bruce and Danny as they prepped for the day, then once they were decked out in their wedding tuxes, we hit the streets of Denver for some iconic wedding day portraits. First we stopped by the blue bear at the Denver Center of Performing arts, then explored Millennium park. We even found a tiny bit of early fall color in the park.
Then it was back to the Denver Athletic Club for the rooftop ceremony and reception.
Bruce and Danny’s vows, in front of the downtown skyline, were super sweet. I just love the happiness on their faces as they walk back down the aisle married.

I love that shot of them on the hill/skyline with the building! Very fresh and still classic. I kind of want it for my own wall! Haha. These are great – I’m so glad you were there to document their special day!
holy WOW! These are amazing. I loved that first look shot…with him walking down the stairs. So unique and cool!
