What is the overall feel of the Denver Athletic Club?

The building is a mix of old and new, with modern athletic facilities mixed with rooms that bring a nod to an Old-Boys Club vibe. The outdoor patio on the roof is my favorite spot in the club. It features city views and is perfect for a ceremony. You can also utilize the outdoor tent on the roof for an outdoor reception and dancing. Or you can retreat indoors to their large ballroom for dinner and dancing.

Pro Tips for Getting Married at the Denver Athletic Club

The roof is the best space for events and I would recommend seeing how you can best utilize it for your wedding. I love ceremonies on the roof and cocktail hours outdoors, but I don’t love the covered tent for ceremonies.  I think it casts a funky light and is a bit difficult to photograph.  My recommendation is to do the ceremony in the open and your dinner under the tent.  Dancing can take place under the tent or out of it!

You could also choose to hold your ceremony offsite, at one of the neighboring venues in Denver (like the Denver Botanic Gardens) and then host your reception at the Denver Athletic Club.

If you can, build in time for portraits in other parts of the city as the Athletic Club has limited options for creative portraits.
