Dream Lake Engagement | Katie and James
Dream Lake Engagement Session – Rocky Mountain National Park
Katie and James started wedding planning at the beginning of the COVID shutdowns nationwide. They had high hopes that they would be able to pull off their intimate wedding in July. But they knew that they wouldn’t be able to make it to Colorado before the week of their wedding for an engagement shoot.
So, we planned to do their engagement session the day before their wedding! I know many people think that an engagement session should be done at least six months before your wedding day. I reality, it can be done anytime! And honestly, doing it a day or two before the wedding feels like a good kick off to your wedding experience.
Katie and James loved the idea of an outdoor hiking session, but wanted to be able to hike in cute clothes, so we planned for a Dream Lake engagement session. Though often a busy trail, Dream Lake is the perfect hike for engagement sessions because it’s short and easily accessible in just about any attire.
We started in the morning in hopes of snagging a coveted parking spot at the trailhead. Luckily we found one and were able to hit the trail quickly. We played in the light in the trees and found awesome overlooks on the trail on the way to the lake. We also snagged some prime shots by the water before reaching Dream Lake itself.
The views at Dream Lake never disappoint and we had a great time taking in the beautiful day together.
Stay tuned for their wedding story, up in a future post!
