An Engagement Session in the Rocky Mountains with a Rainbow | Rachel and Andrew

There are some sessions where everything just seems to fall into place. Rachel and Andrew’s engagement session in Rocky Mountain National Park did just that.

We started their summer engagement session at 3M Curve, which features some of the best views in RMNP below treeline. I love the rocks, the open fields, and, of course, the views.

I also loved that we found this amazing fallen tree, which somehow I’ve never noticed before!

Rachel and Andrew filled me in on their first date, including their first impressions of each other (Andrew loved Rachel’s smile!), and you could feel their energy ebb and flow as they connected at the start of the session.

As the sun moved it’s way towards the mountains, we jumped in the cars and drove up Trail Ridge Road to several of my favorite rocky outcrops.

Rachel’s flowy pink dress was the perfect compliment to the gentle breeze we got at the top. And I just love the jean jacket she paired it with.

Finally, at our last stop, we were heading across the road when we came upon a magical rainbow, hanging out just above the rocks. We hurried to grab some photos before it disappeared. Then we enjoyed the slow set of the sun, the alpenglow on Long’s Peak, and the pink cotton-candy clouds that lit up as the sun disappeared.

I can’t wait to celebrate with these two at their wedding in Denver in August!
