Evergreen Memorial Barn Wedding | Michael and Erin
I’ve had the opportunity to work with some amazing photographers this year and Maureen Cassidy was no exception. Maureen is based out of Wisconsin but she came down to Colorado to photograph a friend’s wedding. Since she wanted to enjoy the wedding, too, she was looking for someone who could be in charge during part of the reception so she could get her boogie on out on the dance floor!
Its funny, I’m not even sure how she came across our site, but through a friend of a friend she found me, and I was super excited to work with her.
We started at Highland Haven Creekside Inn where the first look took place, then we piled in cars for the Evergreen Memorial Barn Wedding.
As we were leaving Highland Haven, we came across a huge herd of elk, buguling right by the creek! I was glad that I had a 70-200 lens that day, because I was able to capture this awesome shot without getting to close (though they were also pretty close to us as well).
Wildlife seemed to be a theme for the day, as we were shooed out of an area by the lake where the buffalo have been known to hang out. Oh well.
Erin and Mike had a very sweet, touching ceremony that even their dog enjoyed, and were joined for the celebration by their adorable daughter, Greta.
After dinner and toasts (and a cocktail hour full of moscow mules and popcorn–can it get much better?), it was time to hit the dance floor, and boy, did this group know how to party! I could barely move, but the energy was completely electric and lasted well past my time.
Maureen, thanks for having me along for such a beautiful wedding–I loved shooting with you!
