Fall Engagement in the Colorado Aspens | Meri and Michael
Meri and Michael have strong ties to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. They got engaged at Dream Lake in 2018, and Meri’s grandpa always loved the mountain town. When Meri and Michael started planning their wedding and their engagement session, they knew Estes Park was where they wanted to be.
For their fall engagement session, they definitely wanted to capitalize on the beautiful aspen leaves of the season. So they booked coveted reservations for Rocky Mountain National Park and we planned an afternoon exploring some of my favorite spots in the park.
We started on the Alberta Falls trail, which has a beautiful grove of aspens, right along the trail. As a spot for engagement photos, Alberta Falls is lovely and not a very difficult hike. And it’s accessible in all seasons.
After we left Alberta Falls, we spotted a gorgeous grove of aspens, right along the side of the road. While the trees at Alberta Falls were a few days away from peak, the tress at this spot, were blazing yellow. Luckily, we were able to pull over and take advantage of some gorgeous sunlight and color.
Then as the it got later, we jumped in the car and drove up Trail Ridge Road to my favorite spot. We explored the rocks, and even went the extra steps to capture some amazing shots on an incredible rocky outcrop. We watched the sun go down together, basking in the fall sunset colors.
I can’t wait to celebrate together at their wedding in Estes Park this summer!
