Grand Junction Wedding | Laura + Parker
Laura and Parker’s Grand Junction wedding took place at Laura’s grandparents house in Grand Junction.
They got ready separately, with Parker hanging out at their house with their dogs and his groomsmen, and Laura getting ready at her mom’s house.
They had their first look at the local Botanical Gardens. They explored the indoor conservatory where they said hello to a giant turtle who lived there.
After some bridesmaid portraits, we headed to the house where the ceremony would be held.
The mid-July day was incredibly hot, and it was boiling by ceremony time.
Laura walked down the aisle with her brother who pinned a boutonnière on her dress as a momento of her father who had recently passed away. From there the emotion was at the surface and there tears all over the place.
Parker read his vows, but before Laura could read hers, Parker had to sit down in the heat. He pulled up a chair, and Laura quickly kneeled down beside him saying “we are equal partners, so I’m going to be down here with you”.
She read her vows kneeling, presented Parker with a Sheriff Pin, then asking him to pin a deputy pin on her dress. Bucking tradition, they shared an emotional kiss after.
They stood for their ring exchange and shared another kiss and walked back down the aisle in a shower of dried flowers.
Parker quickly ditched his 3 piece suit for a much cooler linen suit, and shortly after Laura changed into a beautiful, classic white tea dress. With the change in outfits and the later hour of the day, the weather finally became a bit more manageable.
They shared dinner and toasts under the backyard tent, then opened up the dance floor under market lights.
We snuck out for a few sunset photos, but Parker and Laura were eager to head to their house to relax, so they headed out in their fancy red car shortly after sunset.
