Intimate Lory State Park Wedding

Even though I live north of Denver, I rarely have the opportunity to photograph weddings in Fort Collins. So it was super exciting to be along for the ride as Abigail and Jorge planned their intimate Lory State Park Fort Collins Wedding.

I love when couple’s choose to focus their day on the elements that are most important to them. Every part of Abigail and Jorge’s day was tailored to what they wanted. They decided early on that they didn’t want a large wedding. So instead planned an intimate outdoor day with just their closest family and friends.

They chose Lory State Park as their backdrop and the red cliffs created a dramatic look for their unique day. To top it off, a massive storm skirted it’s way around us and provided the most awesome clouds for portraits.

To start the day, I met Abigail and some of her friends in Downtown Fort Collins. Together, she donned her grey (yes, grey–how cool!) wedding dress, then we quickly set off to Lory State Park for the ceremony. I just love the look of excitement on Abigail’s face as she walks down the makeshift aisle lined with family and friends.

Fifteen minutes later Abigail and Jorge shared their first kiss (and traded some lipstick!). After their ceremony, they shared hugs with their family, then prioritized wandering around the park for photos together. We walked through fields, by the lake, and across streams to find the perfect spots for these beautiful Lory State Park Wedding photos.

With hugs and goodbyes, I sent them off to their dinnertime reception, but their beautiful, intimate wedding will be a favorite of the year!
