Two days after their Boreas Pass Engagement Session, I was back in Breckenridge for Jo and Gabe’s Lodge at Breckenridge Wedding.
When I arrived, Jo was having a relaxing morning with her two bridesmaids, hanging out in a room with an incredible view of the Breckenridge ski resort. The nerves and excitement were present just below the surface, and came spilling out as she finally put on her gorgeous lace wedding dress for her first look with Gabe.
I meet many couples who don’t want to cry on their wedding day, but I say, if you’re feeling it, let it out! One of the most genuinely touching parts of the day was witnessing Jo and Gabe burst into tears at multiple times during their couple’s portraits because they felt so so lucky to be marrying each other. That feeling is what a wedding day should really be about.
After portraits up Boreas Pass, we headed back to the lodge for a deck-side ceremony overlooking the Breckenridge ski resort. As an amateur photographer himself, Gabe was very conscious of wanting the ceremony light to be perfect (a whole other blog post altogether!), and so we made the game time decision to pivot the ceremony orientation to take advantage of the gorgeous back light we had available.
Even though the wind picked up for cocktail hour, we finished the evening in spectacular style with sparkly decor highlighting a beautiful intimate party.
Congratulations Gabe and Jo! I’m so honored to have gotten to know you and celebrate with you!
I love venturing into the mountains for intimate weddings–if you’re planning one, let’s chat!
