Some more about Susan and Rob in their own words:
How did you meet?
We initially met through the dating app Bumble…leading to our first in-person meet-up at a brewery in Denver.
What was your first impression of each other?
Connecting via the online app, we knew we enjoyed talking to each other. We bonded over our lack of interest in doing “Colorado” things (i.e. skiing, hiking, camping) and our shared experience of running our teenagers around to their various activities. I think we were both intrigued to see where things could go after our first meet up.
What one little thing does the other person do that always makes you smile?
Rob: Susan’s laugh is infectious and I smile/laugh every time I hear it….I also smile when she baby-talks to her dog Hugo, calling him “Pup pup”, “Bubbas”, etc.
Susan: When I walk by Rob I can’t help but smack him on his rear end, and I smile at how every time he’s surprised and throws his head back with a smirk on his face, like “Oh! She got me again.”
Describe a perfect Saturday together.
It would definitely be a crisp fall day. We’d start with a late morning brunch in Cherry Creek, followed by a leisurely walk with the dog…We’d finish the evening listening to some music while cooking dinner together before finally sitting down at the table to enjoy the meal with our kids. We might finish it off with a family movie night.
If you could pick one word that describes you as a couple, what would it be?
We can’t decide on one…The following words come close: Dedicated, Committed, Passionate, Unwavering, Supportive, Partners…If we have to pick one “Team” probably encompasses all of those sentiments.
