Vendor Feature | Love Letters Floral Design | Holly Yee
Earlier this year I published a rundown of some of my favorite Colorado Wedding Vendors. But in case the preview left you wanting to know more about these amazing women (yes, all the vendors on my list are women), I’m taking the time to do some more in depth introductions to these talents.

How long have you been in business?
I did the flowers for my first wedding in 1998, but I didn’t formally start my wedding floral business until 2011. It’s been a long (but good) journey!
What made you start Love Letters Floral Design?
I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit since I was very young. I love being creative, problem-solving, and working with my hands. I first started designing with flowers in Hawaii when I took a lei-making class. From there I just loved seeing what beautiful things I could create using flowers!
What is your favorite part of owning your own business?
Having free reign to brainstorm and implement ideas.
Who is your ideal client?
My favorite clients are those that appreciate and understand the value of beautifully designed floral arrangement and how they can really add to and transform an event. People who are excited by the flowers, and who are open to design ideas and suggestions.
Who inspires you in your design?
Wow, that’s a big question, because so many people and things inspire me. My mom, who is always crafting, is a huge source of inspiration. Also, nature: plants, flowers, landscapes, sky, weather, etc. inspires me. Lastly, all the amazing florists I know who are doing incredible things and making gorgeous arrangements – they inspire me to challenge myself and to grow as a designer.
Describe the process of working with you. How would a couple interact with you from start to finish?
I like to think that the process of working with me is thoughtful, relaxed, and enjoyable. My business just consists of me, so I also try to make it very personable. My process starts out with initial contact, Generally, I get inquiries by email or phone. I always have my couples fill out a comprehensive questionnaire before we schedule a formal consultation, either over the phone or in-person. After the consultation is when I put together a full proposal. After that, if the couple chooses to move forward we can make any revisions along the way. And then we see it all come together on the big day!!!
What trends are inspiring to you right now?
I have mixed feelings about trends. On one hand I see them as a source of inspiration and as a process of bringing new ideas to the forefront of design, which is cool. But, when things become ‘trendy’ my rebellious side wants to break the mold and do something else. I think one should go with the design that feels right to them, not what is trending at that time. Being true to yourself is always the best course of action.
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
I stopped eating ice cream several years ago after getting weirded out by dairy, but I will occasionally eat chocolate coconut milk ice cream. It’s delicious!!!
Where would you most like to travel?
My husband and I want to visit New Zealand. We heard it’s amazing.
