On the Hunt for the Best Cinnamon Rolls | An Intro

If you know me at all, you know that I’m pretty obsessed with desserts.  I have a major sweet tooth, which I’m pretty sure I inherited from my dad and my grandma.  I’ve always preferred baking over cooking, I’ll skip a drink so I can afford dessert, and I’ll intentionally only eat half of my plate at a restaurant if it means I’ll have room for dessert.

Backing up to the first meal of the day, my sweet tooth also means that I prefer pancakes with maple syrup for breakfast over an omelette.

And it means I’m kind of addicted to cinnamon rolls.

Soft, ooey, gooey cinnamon rolls, fresh out of the oven.  With just the right amount of cream cheese frosting on them.  The cinnamon rolls that I dream about when I picture baking for a special occasion.

I make an absolutely amazing cinnamon roll from scratch.  If you like cinnamon rolls, even a little bit, you need to try these.  They’re fantastic! But they also take a little bit of work, so I don’t make them often.  I also try to limit how often I make them because they make a whole pan full and if I’m not careful, I could eat it all in two or three days.  No joke.

What I need, is a go-to cinnamon roll, that I can treat myself to when we’re out for breakfast on occasion.

So, over the next year, I’ll be on the hunt for the best local cinnamon roll.  Ideally I’d find it a close drive to our house, but I won’t count out Denver, Boulder, or any of the surrounding neighborhoods.  And I’ll definitely be on the lookout when I travel.

So follow along and see what I come up with!
