Pagosa Springs Wedding | Shelby and Gabriel
Last June I had the privilege of traveling down to Pagosa Springs to 2nd shoot with Elizabeth Ann Photography at this lovely Pagosa Springs Wedding. I love exploring new parts of the state, and the San Juan Mountain range of Southern Colorado has had my heart since we first moved here 8 years ago. I think one of the things that I really like about Pagosa Springs, is that it feels both lush and mountainous. Colorado can feel quite dry at times (let’s face it, it is a pretty arid state), but somehow this region always feels a bit wetter. I think my wife likes that feel because they grew up in the Pacific Northwest, where it’s almost always rainy and lush.
Shelby and Gabriel chose to get married at a family property, which meant that they had lots of help pulling together their outdoor wedding vision. To make the day even more special, they got to celebrate with their son.
The storm clouds rolled over the mountains in the distance, but luckily they never got any closer. What they did, though, was create a dramatic backdrop for the ceremony.
After the ceremony, Shelby and Gabriel retreated to a converted barn to toast and dance the night away. One of my favorite parts of the day, was watching each of them dance with their parents. The mother/son and father/daughter dances were full of emotion and joy. And then when Shelby danced with her son, all of the eyes teared up.
To cap off the day, we snuck out just before sunset to capture some stunning golden photos by the nearby lake.
All in all, this beautiful Pagosa Springs wedding was the perfect start to a beautiful summer season.
Congrats to the happy couple!
These are spectacular Jennie. I can’t wait to be outside again. You did an incredible job! Keep it up!
