Arapahoe Basin Black Mountain Lodge Wedding
There are some wedding days that just stick with you. For me, I always remember weddings that are heavy on authentic joyful moments, intimate in location, and are a celebration between devoted people.
L+D’s Black Mountain Lodge wedding checked all of the boxes for me.
L started the day getting ready in her parent’s home in the mountains. The house was located in a peaceful neighborhood with awesome views of a valley in their backyard. D got ready in a house a street over. In fact, if you looked in the right direction from the back balconies, L and D could have waved to each other.
A short time later, L and D planned an intimate first look in the evergreens and I love that they danced their way into this moment together.
We stopped for fun bridal portraits near Lake Dillon before heading up to Black Mountain Lodge and the main event.
If you live in Colorado, you know that the weather in the mountains can be unpredictable. L + D experienced this first hand. Just after the last of the guests had boarded the chair lift to be taken up the mountain to the reception, the rain started to pour. L, D, and their bridal parties chose to hang out at the bottom of the mountain and to wait out the storm. I love the tension in the series of images as they anxiously waited for permission to board the lift. Finally, the crew donned ponchos and decided to go for it.
Luckily, the rain held off for the rest of the evening, and L + D enjoyed a fabulous deck side ceremony and a rowdy reception in the beautiful Black Mountain Lodge.
Congratulations to the happy couple. Favorite images from this Araphahoe Basin Black Mountain Lodge Wedding below! Thanks to Jenae Lopez for inviting me to 2nd shoot this awesome wedding.
