Rainy Outdoor Colorado Wedding | N + C
Oh my goodness–we had sooooo much rain in Colorado this summer! Unlike years past when June was hot and dry, we were bombarded with rainy day after rainy day this year. Jenae Lopez Photography invited me along to this Rainy Wild Basin Lodge Wedding and, despite the rain, I think it turned out beautifully!
Thankfully, N + C were the king and queen of “go with the flow”. They didn’t let a downpour ruin their wedding day.
We hung out with N + C and their bridal parties while they got ready. The bridesmaids floated between the groomsmen and the bride, making the day feel more connected. Between toasts and hugs, everyone was all smiles. Thank goodness for the covered porch on the front of the lodge that allowed me to do some creative group photos with the groom and groomsmen.
And honestly, thank goodness for the covered porches around the whole property. As the ceremony approached, it was clear that an outdoor ceremony wan’t going to happen. But the staff at Wild Basin lodge were rock stars in moving an outdoor ceremony onto the covered porches in record time. They managed to create aisles for N + C to walk down, moved the chuppah to the porch, and helped the ceremony start right on time.
N + C didn’t seem to care one bit about the rain. They cherished their (covered) outdoor ceremony for what it was–their time to marry each other.
After the ceremony, everyone retreated inside for dinner, drinks, and dancing. Including the craziest, most crowded, fasted hora I’ve ever been a part of.
Congratulations N + C!
