RiNo Denver Engagement | Stephanie and Justin

couple wearing Wintercroft Masks for Denver RiNo engagement photoI met Stephanie and Justin at the Lovesick Expo this year and boy are they my people.  Shortly after the show, we met up at one of my all time favorite coffee shops in Denver, Sugar Bakeshop.  None of us actually like coffee, but Sugar Bakeshop makes fantastic pastries (including quite a few that are Paleo compliant if that’s important to you).  Their specialty is their homemade pop tarts, which is just what I had the morning I met up with Stephanie and Justin.

After an hour of getting to know each other (fun connecting fact–they love Science Lounge at DMNS and are members of the zoo), we settled on a RiNo Denver Engagement session showcasing locally created fun art and murals.  To play up the whimsy of the location and their own personalities and relationship, the two decided to make their own animal masks with templates from Wintercroft Masks and incorporate them in to the shoot.

Using old cereal boxes, some glue and spray paint, Justin created two phenomenal masks–a bear and a fox–and they photographed so well.

We managed to spend over two hours wandering and creating photos together and I enjoyed every minute I spent with these two.   And as a nice bonus, there is so much phenomenal art in RiNo that we did all of our wandering within a four to five block radius.   Perfect!

Enjoy these photos then stay tuned for part 2 of their engagement session up at Lost Gulch Overlook in Boulder.
