Sloan Lake Engagement | 40 West Arts Engagement | Cassie and Mark
I met Cassie and Mark at this year’s Wedtoberfest event. Wedtoberfest is a new bridal show that is unlike any other bridal show you’ve been to. The premise is craft beer and wedding planning and the atmosphere was as relaxed as a brew pub. Even for this non-beer drinking gal (cider, wine, or cocktails are my jam), I just loved hanging out for the evening and connecting with couples in a low-stress environment.
Cassie and Mark were the first people I talked to for the evening and I knew right away that they would be a pleasure to photograph.
Fast forward to mid-March and we were meeting up for their Sloan Lake Engagement session. Cassie and Mark chose Sloan Lake because it’s where they shared their first kiss and where they got engaged. We tracked down “their” bench and then wandered along the lake, taking in the slowly setting sun.
After we wrapped at the lake we headed to the 40 West Art’s district, a really cool outdoor art experience that has cropped up near Casa Bonita.
Cassie is an artist herself and knew some of the artists whose work was on display. I just love when couples choose a location for engagement photos that means something to them. I could tell that Cassie and Mark would cherish their photos because they were all steeped in meaning.
The two lovebirds are planning a wedding in Salida for March 2020. I can’t wait to see how their plans unfold.
Congrats!
