Sonnenalp Hotel Vail Colorado Wedding | Heather and Chris
Heather and Chris chose a beautiful early summer day for their Sonnenalp Hotel Vail Colorado wedding and I couldn’t have been more excited to celebrate with them. Though they live in the San Francisco Bay area now, Heather spent several years in Colorado and the mountains have always felt like a 2nd home to her.
I love that the two of them have found a way to marry their favorite activities between Colorado and California: their description of a perfect Saturday together includes hiking and rock climbing in the mountains.
When considering venues, Vail seemed like a natural choice and the old school Swiss Chalet vibes of the Sonnenalp Hotel was the perfect fit for their vision.
After getting ready separately, Chris and Heather chose to do a first look by the creek before wandering the Vail property to capture some colorful pre-ceremony portraits. A couple hours later they were saying “I do” by the water with 80 of their closest friends and family looking on.
One of my favorite parts of the day was seeing the pure joy on Heather and Chris’ faces after they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife, then again when they entered their reception hand in hand an hour later.
Vintage Magnolia provided the stunning colorful flowers for the celebration and they paired perfectly with the green glass indoor/outdoor reception site that is a signature of the Sonnenalp Hotel.
We managed to sneak in some sunset portraits before a round of toasts (including an impromptu sing and dance session by Heather’s sisters and friends) carried the party into the twilight hours of a perfect June night.
Congratulations again Heather and Chris!
