Spanish Inspired San Diego Wedding | Rancho Valencia Wedding | Lizzy and Josh
Rancho Valencia Wedding
Lizzy and Josh chose an elegant California spot for their Spanish Inspired San Diego Wedding. The Rancho Valencia property is located in Rancho Sante Fe, CA and included everything the two wanted for their wedding celebration.
Inspired by her childhood experiences in Mexico, Lizzy wanted to highlight color in her decor and hired a fantastic vendor team to execute her vision. She pulled in large colorful paper flowers, traditional touches for the ceremony, and the most amazing lounge furniture in the reception area.
I arrived early in the day to hang out with Lizzy and her bridesmaids. Their goofy energy kept us all on our toes and provided the backdrop for some truly fun interactions. A few villas away, Josh and his groomsmen were hanging out, sharing whisky shots, and prepping for the ceremony.
Shortly after guests were greeted with gold rimmed champagne glasses, Lizzy made her excited walk down the aisle to a waiting Josh. I just love the look she gave him with she finally made it to the alter.
Finally, under an arbor of greenery, flowers, and colorful paper decor, Josh and Lizzy said their vows to each other, then exited in a shower of confetti.
After the ceremony, while guests made their way to a cocktail hour on a balcony, Lizzy and Josh snuck off to explore the spa for photos. The spa at Rancho Valencia is an absolutely oasis. Hidden corners, colorful tiles, fountains, and the most awesome reflection pool by the yoga studio. We explored every corner, focusing on intimate moments and beautiful romantic sunset light.
Rancho Valencia Wedding Reception
When it was time to for the reception, a mariachi band led the guests to the open air tent, gorgeously styled by Ever After Events, Found Rentals, and Flowers by Annette Gomez. Every detail, from the tin lanterns to the wooden candle holders, to the colorful dinner stations was the perfect extension of Lizzy’s vision.
Dinner, toasts, a surprise serenade by Lizzy’s grandmother, and crazy dancing were the capstone to a beautiful reception.
After a sparkler exit, the couple treated their guests to a balloon filled after party that sported donuts and adult hot chocolate. Lizzy and Josh ended the night with a blindfolded piñata competition before guests headed off to bed.
All in all, Lizzy and Josh’s Rancho Velencia wedding was one for the books. It was vibrant, full of personal touches, and meant to be a true experience in one of their favorite locations.
