The 2nd Denver Big Fake Wedding | NOAH’s Event Venue
A few weeks ago I blogged about the upcoming Denver Big Fake Wedding and two weeks ago today I was working away at NOAH’s Event Venue, capturing the stunning details of the vendors involved, working with an amazing couple and their close friends, and connecting with the awesome peeps behind the Big Fake Wedding industry.
I’ll keep my intro short as I want to get on to highlighting the event, but I can tell you I had a BLAST this year. Heather joined me for the evening portion of the event so she could connect with couples and I could keep shooting till the very end. At the end of the night I left feeling so grateful to be in an industry full of such amazing talent.
To see the full list of talented vendors, check out the event page at the Big Fake Wedding.
The day kicked off with hair and make-up by Hair and Make-up in Motion. Caroline and her friends Libby and Jo got the star treatment while Justin and his friends hung out and played pool.
MJM Designs provided the boutonnieres which coordinated perfectly with the bow ties.
Caroline had two wedding dresses for the day provided by Brilliant Bridal–the first one featured a full skirt, similar to the actual wedding dress she wore at her wedding last June. Sugar Ink provided one of the invitation sets, which was modeled off of real photos of Caroline and Justin and played into their southern-roots-turned-Colorado personalities.
MJM Designs also provided the bridal bouquets while chloe + isabel provided the statement jewelry for all of the girls.
Nerida Mason Australia crafted the amazing hair accessories. Nerida was at the Big Fake Wedding last year and had such a good time that she returned. It was awesome to photograph her creations again and I’m looking forward to collaborating on a shoot together this coming fall!
We found a gorgeous grove of trees close to the venue for bridal party photos. Even though it was a HOT August day, this group of friends had a blast hanging out for portraits. We let the bridal party head back to the cool inside of NOAH’s while I hung out with Caroline and Justin for a few extra portraits of them. The two of them met at Clemson University in 2009 on the first day of their senior year, but didn’t start dating until three years later. Shortly after that they got engaged in Colorado and have since made our beautiful stat their home.
As a couple they were a joy to work with–they love deeply and openly and were full of laughter the entire day.
While the bridal party took a break before the start of the ceremony and the opening of the event to the public, I set to work capturing the fabulous details of the reception space. MJM Designs kept it simple and really played up the tomato red of the inspiration board. I LOVE the idea of using tomatoes for place cards. Super earthy, inexpensive, and fun! It also served as a great platform to show off Caroline and Justin’s Clemson University rings, since that was such a big part of their history.
DWC Creative created the cutest accent signage throughout the event–including adorable flags and the best bathroom sign ever.
ENLY Event Design took on the ceremony decor, which tied into their amazing table decor. I absolutely love their bright red table numbers and the lush florals they pulled together. Two vendors took on a hanging approach to their design. The Olive and Poppy (top) worked on the head table and We Tie the Knots (bottom) designed two of the reception tables. We Tie the Knots also worked in the pop of blue from the inspiration board and it worked so well.
Just before ceremony time we snuck Caroline and Justin outside to capture some photos of the amazing desserts. The cake and lemon layer desserts were made by Handcraft Bakery. I honestly think they made some of the best cake I’ve had in a long time and I’m already planning to use them for parties in the future!Colorado Cotton Candy Co was also on site, which provided the perfect whimsical touch to a more rustic theme.
Post-ceremony it was time to get the dance party started! Serendipity Catering was on site showcasing tons of amazing appetizers as well as a s’more bar while DJ Maestro kept the party hopping all the way to the grand exit, coordinated by Blue Lace Events Colorado. The perfect photo to end with: The Big Fake Wedding promotes strong and committed marriages and Justin and Caroline demonstrated that in spades.
Love all your attention to detail, and your dancing photos are so fun!
