Winter Sapphire Point Elopement | Marc and Rachel
Just after the first of the year I had the absolute pleasure of celebrating with Marc, Rachel, and their children at their intimate Winter Sapphire Point Elopement. Rachel and Marc had some loose plans for their elopement, but when they found out that all of their children could be in Colorado for the holidays, they jumped on the chance to fulfill their plans.
Marc and Rachel met 6 years ago and have since moved to Colorado together. They love exploring and traveling together and have created a calm and connected life together in Colorado.
They chose Sapphire Point because of the beautiful views from the ceremony spot, and because they love to Kayak on Dillon Lake in the summer.
The day of their wedding was a beautiful blue sky Colorado day and they got lucky with abundant sunshine. I met up with Marc at the Point and there we waited patiently for Rachel to arrive. When it was finally go time, everyone was all smiles. Rachel’s daughter walked her down the aisle and there she met Marc, who was so excited to make this marriage official.
Their ceremony was intimate and focused on the life that they have built together. They said heartfelt vows with their children looking on and brought their families together with a sand ceremony.
After the first kiss we took the time to wander the path around Sapphire Point and explore on the rocks. It was so much fun mixing couple’s portraits with fun family photos! Their kids were so supportive and happy to be a part of the day and I love that the whole session felt like a breath of fresh air.
Then we drove down the mountain and hopped over to Dillon Lake. There we took advantage of the setting sun for some more romantics. If you’ve never walked out on a frozen lake, I highly recommend it. It’s such a cool feeling! And in the middle of winter, you get to explore angles you don’t get to do in the summer when the lake isn’t frozen. Just don’t step in an ice fishing hole!
We finished the day with hot chocolate toasts and then Rachel and Marc and their family headed out for a dinner celebration.
I’m so happy to have had the chance to celebrate with you–I wish all of you a life of happiness!
