365 Day Photo Project – December

December was a fun month for us including lots of get togethers with family and friends, including a trip to Christiansburg, VA to visit my family.  Strangely enough, we barely got any snow in Syracuse this past December while the previous December we broke the record for snowfall.

December was also a key month for us because we both had job interviews in Denver just after the New Year so the holidays were filled with nerves and speculation.

I absolutely LOVE this peaceful Christmas pictures. It took a little experimenting and several shots,
but I finally ended up with this beauty, just as I had imagined it in my head.

One of my favorite school activities when I was little was making gingerbread houses.  We used to make them out of graham crackers on unused meat trays from the grocery store, but this year we tried our hand with a pre-made kit.
I really wanted to capture some shots of my parent’s house at night as my mom is really good at creating vignettes of decorations.
This shot was taken with a long exposure on a tri-pod so I could make sure the results were crisp and clear.

My grandma was in the market for a Madeline pan so we found her one in a specialty food store in downtown Blacksburg.  Of course we had to test it out!
