A look back – The City of Brotherly Love 2011

For the first year anniversary of our DC Wedding, Heather and I met up with some friends in Philadelphia, the city of Brotherly Love.  As a history buff I loved Philadelphia–the streets just pulsed with charm and character.  Now that we live in Colorado, I’m not sure when we’ll have the chance to go back, but I’d go back any day!

Hot and muggy (around 100 degrees!) but enjoying the sites  anyway!

Checking out the Betsy Ross House.
The Liberty Bell!

Touring Independence Hall and checking out the room where the Constitutional Congress met to work on the
Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution.

Exploring the streets of Philadelphia.

Mmmm…Girl Scout Cookies.

Not exactly sure why they were there, but we came across a plaza with giant game pieces everywhere.

Dinner out to celebrate the official 1 year mark.
Of course, we had to do a Cheesestake tour of the city.  First stop, Jim’s Steaks.  Decent, but not the best of the city.
Then we hit up Geno’s and Pat’s.  The concensus was that Pat’s was the best.
