Artifact Uprising | Vendor Feature

One of the things I enjoyed the most about attending WPPI last year was having the chance to walk around at the expo and check out vendors.  Based on my walk around, we decided to transition to a new album company for 2015 (updates on that coming soon), and I fell in love with a local printing company, Artifact Uprising.

Not only is it awesome to support a local business, but their philosophies and business strategies center around green practices and a commitment to creating tangible art.  Their prints and books are all printed on 100% recycled paper and, here’s the coolest thing, they use beetle pine for their woodblock products.

From their website:

More than 4 million acres of lodgepole and ponderosa pine trees across America’s Rocky Mountains are being killed by the pine beetle infestation.

But there’s hope. Our forests now have a continued future thanks to the ingenuity of a few craftsmen. You see, the logs themselves are just as rigid and harmless as their healthy counterparts—begging the question, “Why use healthy trees with so many already fallen?”

Our woodworkers who handcraft our calendar, wood block and box products are proud pioneers in the Colorado area—collaborating with local sawmills and the U.S. Forestry Department to continue to bring these kinds of products to the market. 100% of the beetle pine we use is sourced right here in Colorado. And that—that’s one for the forests.

I love this story so much that I decided to order our client holiday gifts through Artifact Uprising this year.  We chose the Wood block + Prints, which are printed in a polaroid-style size.  Each pack comes with 12 prints which can be rotated and changed out and displayed on a desk, dresser, or office shelf.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for the awesome Christmas gift! LOVED IT and loved how the pictures came out. Never thought of doing something like that. –Lacey

One final thing to love about Artifact Uprising–they’re constantly developing new, classy, products. I can’t wait to see what rolls out of their offices this year.
