Denver Space Gallery Civil Union | Red and Beah

A couple of weeks ago we had the privilege of photographing Red and Beah’s Denver Space Gallery Civil Union in the Santa Fe Art District.

From the moment we sat down with them for margaritas and fish tacos during our consultation we knew we’d be a great fit for each other.  It was more than a consultation, it was a 2 hour laugh fest and it was awesome.  Red and Beah are a perfect match for each other and it was so apparent in the ways they played off each other’s jokes and comments.

They met 10 years ago on the rugby field and their relationship grew naturally even after they hung up their rugby cleats (though does anyone ever really retire from rugby?).  These days their Saturdays are filled with coffee, homemade breakfasts and bike rides, and they do it with with endless smiles and laughter along the way.  Red makes Beah laugh with her funny faces (I have photo proof!) and Beah does sweet things to make Red smile, like putting toothpaste on her toothbrush.

Their relationship is easy, simple, and destined to last a long time.

Congratulations Red and Beah!  We hope you enjoyed your mini-honeymoon to California and we can’t wait to get together soon and catch up again.

Their decorations included crafty homemade centerpieces, decorated Mason jar “adult-sippy cups” (seen here without lid and straw),
and delicious desserts made with love from friends and family.

I love the looks of nervous happiness as Red and Beah wait for the ceremony to start.

One of the cool elements of the Space Gallery was the lofted event space, where Red and Beah stood during the ceremony.
Family stood on the stairs and friends and guests could watch from down below.

After some tears, good music, prayers, and a Shel Silverstein reading from Red’s cousin’s they were ecstatic to celebrate the announcement of their Civil Union.Denver Space Gallery Civil Union ceremony PhotosDenver Space Gallery Civil Union ceremony PhotosDenver Space Gallery Civil Union ceremony Photos
After the ceremony we took advantage of some gorgeous window light indoors to take some portraits.
