Flowers on Medium Format Film | Destination Wedding Photography
I have been dabbling in medium format film photography a little less this year–ever since I shot this Piney River Ranch shoot entirely on film last August.
Its not that I have less love for film, but more and more on wedding days it just hasn’t been forefront in my mind.
I did, however, lug my film camera across the Atlantic Ocean in May when my wife, son, and I traveled to Amsterdam. I’ve haven’t really experimented with film outside of weddings, so this was a good chance to think about what kinds of stories I wanted to tell while traveling.
It turns out, I wanted to tell a story of flowers.
While I have lots of other photos from our trip (still sitting in my editing queue for now), the below photos are my handful of images from our trip to Keukenhof Gardens. I did a wedding session at the gardens first (see Stephanie and Jayson’s awesome flower photos), then spent the afternoon exploring the tulips and colorful flowers with my family.

I think what I’ll need to get out of my current rut, and get back into shooting more film, is to plan a creative session soon. Cheers to creativity!
The colors of film…are just amazing!!!
Yeah Portra800! These are so beautiful! Love that you’re getting back into film!! Thanks for sharing!
