Goal #9 – Marketing Postcard, check!

We’ve been working this year to create a marketing plan that includes a few carefully chosen printed items.  We’ve got a perspective client package in the works and we recently had these marketing postcards printed from ProDPI (goal #9 on our 101 Goals in 1001 Days List).

Based on the business advice of Lara White of Geoff White Photographers and author of Photography Business Secrets: The Savvy Photographer’s Guide to Sales, Marketing, and More we’ve chosen a signature image that we can use throughout our marketing plan to promote consistency and give us a recognizable presence.  This image is on our postcards, on our business cards, and is the first image in our wedding portfolio gallery on our website as well as the first image in our masthead slideshow.  We’ll plan to use it in any print advertising we do this year as well.

As for these postcards, we’ll be sending them out to different LGBT organizations in the Denver area as well as using them as promotional materials at venues.  We even have a version with a QR code which we’re planning to post on community boards in local coffee shops and restaurants.  We’re excited to see how people utilize the QR code–its our first time using something like this but we see the potential.

Even though our marketing budget is small, we’re hoping that strategic planning and smart design can help make these printed materials a success!
