Jordaan Amsterdam Couples Session | Sarah and Mike

This past May Heather and I took Easton on his very first international trip across the sea to Amsterdam.  While I am very much a planning type of person, this trip was a 4am, spur of the moment decision back in December.

And once our travel plans for Amsterdam started taking shape, I started to dream of finding opportunities to photograph in a new and exciting city.

Thanks to the internet and an amazing Facebook group of women who love to travel (Girls Love Travel), I was able to connect with Sarah and Mike, American ex-pats living in Amsterdam.

Sarah runs a travel blog (Tales from a Fork), which dishes out travel, fashion, and life advice on a daily basis.  Sarah and Mike have been living in Amsterdam for a year and a half and love it so much that they recently bought and renovated an apartment.  They’re not sure when they’ll move on to their next adventure as they love the vibe of Amsterdam so much.

Funny enough, their apartment was literally a 5 minute walk from our air bnb in the Oud West neighborhood, so we caught an Uber together and headed to the streets of the Jordaan neighborhood to document their life in their chosen city.

The Jordaan neighborhood is picturesque and quintessentially Dutch.  It features canals, leaning historic houses, quiet alleys and lush neighborhood greenery.  It was the perfect place for an Amsterdam Couples Session and the perfect atmosphere to stroll, laugh, and hitch a ride on a bike.
