Sapphire Point Winter Engagement | Katie and Dan

Katie and Dan are getting married in the Virgin Islands in just a couple weeks, so they opted for a Sapphire Point Winter Engagement session to mix things up a bit.

We decided to head West, towards Silverthorne, because they wanted to do a session in the snow.  Good thing we did, too, as this year snow was non-existent at lower elevations, even at the end of February. We met up at Officer’s Gulch, just off of I-70 to explore some of the trails there.

Turns out the “trails” were about a foot wide of tramped snow, with several feet of soft, sinkable snow, on either side.  Good think I didn’t mind getting snow up to my knees!

Regardless, we had a great time exploring, chasing the light as it slipped behind the mountains, and hanging out with their two adorable dogs.

After we left Officer’s Gulch, we drove up to Dillon Lake to check out Sapphire Point just before sunset.  We were crunched for time as it was super windy at the point, and therefore really cold, but we made the most of our 15 minute jaunt.

Congratulations Katie and Dan, and enjoy the sunshine and warm breezes on your wedding day!
