Shooting Medium Format Film | Portra 400

One of my business goals this year is to try to shoot one roll of medium format film at every wedding. I’m enjoying this process of shooting medium format film so far, focusing on using the camera for portraits alongside of my amazing digital camera.

Your can follow along with my results on Film Fridays.

Since our last wedding of the season wrapped on October 10, I’ve had a chance to sort through some of my film images from this season.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve played around with different film stocks and there are things I love about each one.  Portra 800 remains a favorite, as does Fuji 400H, but I hadn’t really used Portra 400 before Andréa and Bryce’s wedding in September, so I busted out a roll to give it a go.

I didn’t really know what to expect, but I think it handled beautifully on a really bright, sunny day with no clouds in the sky.
