Tivoli Auraria Campus Wedding
Stephanie and Norris intentionally focused their wedding day around honoring family and their own histories with their Tivoli Auraria Campus Wedding.
They got married on the Auraria campus because Stephanie had gone to school there and had close ties. And because Norris’ mom used to live in a house on campus (back before it was part of the campus).
The house is part if the historic 9th street park, which features green space and two rows of historic houses preserved in the middle of the city.
They hosted their ceremony in front of the house that Norris’ mom lived in (which later became the First Mexican restaurant in Denver—Casa Mayan). Their family officiated the ceremony and they wrote their own vows to seal the union.
After the ceremony, Stephanie’s and Norris led their guests back to the Tivoli reception hall on campus where they hosted brunch reception. The historic space featured beautiful windows and exposed brick and they hung Mexican flags as a nod to Norris’ heritage.
Then they ate and danced and toasted the afternoon away!
