Vail Winter Engagement | Kathy and Peter
I photographed Kathy and Peter’s Vail Winter Engagement session back in March for Daylene + Co but I’m sharing it here because its one of my favorite winter sessions!
Anyone who lives in Colorado knows that the 2017 – 2018 winter was rough. And not in the way you think. We had so much less snow than typical that it really hit the ski economy hard. Which meant we had to take a chance on this March session and cross our fingers that we found snow somewhere.
Luckily, I have some amazing photography networks and they suggested this hidden patch of mountain a few miles east of Vail. Reserved for alpine sports like cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and snow crafts, we found an abundance of snow (I’m talking waist deep off the trail) that we were able to utilize for our session.
Kathy’s brilliant blue dress was so perfect for a winter session and really made her and Peter pop against the white snow and blue skies.
When we had had enough trudging through snow, we drove the few miles into Vail Village and put a cozy spin on the session. Starting with a stop for hot chocolate and coffee, we wandered the streets of the village looking for snuggly corners and cozy fire pits.
All in all, a great way to spend a winter day in the mountains.
Congratulations Kathy and Peter!
