Mountaintop Summer Wedding in Vail Colorado

More and more these days I’m getting the chance to work with couples on their intimate, mountain top summer weddings and its such a good fit. The Vail Wedding Deck is becoming a fast favorite for its views, seclusion and intimate feel.

Jess and Matt live out of state in Minnesota, but have spent plenty of time in Steamboat Springs, Colorado for Matt’s baseball coaching career. So they thought it was only fitting to invite their immediate family to celebrate their marriage with them in the mountains they love. Jess’ sister even flew in from Italy to celebrate and it was so beautiful to watch the two of them connect with each other throughout the day.

Both sides of the family got ready in Vail Village, where the afternoon breezes blew through their open windows and live music filtered in from the courtyards below.

A couple of hours later, we all caught the Eagle Bahn Gondola to the top of Vail Mountain where Jess and Matt said their vows in front of sweeping, expansive, Colorado views. Jess’ grandmother was unable to attend the wedding, but thanks to modern technology she was able to watch the ceremony via FaceTime. One of my favorite moments of the day was watching Jess celebrate with her grandma through the phone post-ceremony.

Before heading in for a lovely intimate reception dinner, Jess and Matt took some time to wander and connect in the magical sunset light. And boy was it magical.
