How long have you been in business?

In 2013 I started doing makeup on friends for fun, and quickly realized I wanted it to be my job. So in 2014 I got my esthetician license and have been booking weddings ever since!

What made you start your own business? Why did you choose to work in the wedding industry?

I love so many things about makeup, one major element is the impact it can have on confidence. It was a no-brainer to go into the wedding industry because it’s such an important day to feel confident and comfortable! Weddings are also super fun and special, I feel honored when I am chosen to be a part of someone’s wedding!

What is your favorite part of owning your own business?

I am so grateful and lucky to be able to work for myself. It gives me the opportunity to make deep connections with every person that sits in my makeup chair. We laugh, sometimes even cry, and I absolutely love getting to help show someone just how beautiful they are, with and without makeup!

Who is your ideal client? Who inspires you in your design?

Makeup is so personal, and I love having the opportunity to help someone’s personality shine through makeup. Whether you wear a full face of makeup every single day, or maybe you don’t know the first thing about makeup, there is a look to suit everyone. I get inspired by talking to every single person about their vision for themselves. People sometimes sit in my chair and have an exact idea for what they want their makeup to look like, and I get to create a look based on their inspiration. Other times people don’t know what they’re looking for and I love talking them through ideas and options to get them excited and inspired!

Describe the process of working with you. What do couple’s need to know?

I get so excited to be a part of anyone’s special day! First things first, we will probably exchange a handful of emails or phone calls so I can get to know you and all the details of your big day. Next comes the trial, which I always recommend doing. We’ll get together and create the perfect look for you to make sure you radiate with confidence! If I’m doing makeup on both wedding parties you’ll have the option of doing a joint trial, or separate to keep an element of surprise. After we finalize the makeup look, we’ll schedule the timeline for the day of the ceremony and/or reception. I always like to have a clear plan for my arrival, start time, and who gets makeup done when. This ensures there is no rushing around and we have plenty of time to get everyone ready. Before I leave you to your nuptials, I always do a few last minute touch-ups to make sure you walk out the door ready to walk down the aisle, pose for those close-up photos, hug all your friends and family, and of course, ready to dance the night away!

What trends are inspiring to you right now?

I get so inspired by the changing seasons in Colorado. We are so lucky to live in a state that has gorgeous weather for weddings year round. The seasonal elements have such an impact on overall vibe and esthetic for weddings that makeup often changes right along with it. I love the idea of a smokey eye and deep berry lip color for fall and winter weddings. In the spring and summer months I love to see glowing skin and glossy lips!

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

I love trying new ice cream flavors, but seem to always come back to some form of Cookies and Cream. My current favorite is Ben & Jerry’s “Chocolate Salted ‘n Swirled” non-dairy ice cream! It’s got chocolate, it’s got oreos, it’s got salted caramel, and it’s made with almond milk. I can’t get enough!

Where would you most like to travel?

Europe is one of my favorite continents to explore – there are so many countries to visit! I’ve only been to seven so far, so I’ve got a lot more on my list!
