We had only met Lacey and Sara via Skype before their wedding day, but we were super excited to head down south for their Trinidad Backyard Same-sex Wedding to celebrate with them and see their Country-Disney theme come to life.
The wedding took place on a hot August day–and while it had poured rain the day before, luckily, blue skies dominated their wedding day. Lacey and friends decorated her mom’s back yard in a down-home, country theme, complete with hay bales (NOT hay barrels as I called them all day) and wagon wheels, and Lacey’s side of the bridal party wore jeans, button up shirts, vests, and hats.
One of my favorite moments of the day was seeing the look on Lacey’s face as she saw Sara walking down the aisle towards her and then the high fives and smiles that the two of them shared with guests as they walked back up as a married couple. Their son, Caleb, joined them as their ring barer and was the perfect little cowboy.
We did couple’s portraits at the courthouse near the ceremony site, then ventured over to Ristra’s Mexican restaurant for drinks, dinner, and dancing.
Lacey and Sara, it was an honor getting to capture your wedding day and we’re so happy that you’re off for a new adventure in Washington State. You’re going to love the Northwest, but hopefully you’ll always have a place for Colorado in your heart.
We wish you many more years of love of happiness!
